Anthony Morris III removed from the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Anthony Morris III has been removed from serving as a member of the Governing Body. As per the picture below, the JW.Org newsroom has announced that as of 22 February 2023, Anthony Morris III is no longer serving as a Governing Body Member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Implications:

It is almost 100% certain that it must because of wrongdoing. An announcement this important and potentially shocking to all Jehovah’s Witnesses would have had an explanation attached to the announcement if the cause was resigning because of ongoing ill health. Governing Body members once appointed, are usually members for life.

If the rumours that are circulating are even partially true, it could send shockwaves through the Organization.

It brings to mind the saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely. However, until the rumours can be verified, we will refrain from publishing any further comments as it would be speculative to do so.

Anthony Morris III has been removed from acting as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

PS. Since the publication of the above article on this website on 26/2/2023 around 14:00, the news item on JW.Org newsroom has been removed from the JW.Org website. (Less than 24 hours later!). It seems the news item lasted for only 4 days (23/2 – 26/2). Quite why is anyone’s guess at present. It could be because of the stir it has created in the Ex-JW community, or maybe the Organization underestimated or miscalculated the impact on ordinary JW’s. One thing is for sure. This will be a hot topic for a while to come!

However, the fact that the change has taken place is shown on the FAQ page, What is the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses? This is as at 27/02/2023 14:57 GMT. (Will this change as well????)
